Load Shedding is back, and Kookie has South Africa in stitches of laughter after the “agents of inconvenience” implement their 2022 strategy.

South Africa (03 February 2022) – Kuhle “Kookie” Sonkosi is going viral for a hilarious sports interview parody discussing Eskom’s 2022 Load Shedding season. The video is brilliant and, in typical South African style, helps us laugh through the difficult times.

Kuhle Sonkosi is 29-years-old and started making videos three years ago. He goes by Kookie Khule on social media. His content really started picking in the last year. “Kookie” is going viral for a hilarious skit that he shared on his TikTok. The video was created because Eskom plans to start load shedding in South Africa.

“The skit was inspired by the fact load shedding is back and I wanted to make the video from an Eskom aspect and parody what they would say in a sports interview format as opposed to making a video of being the person who gets load shedded. Normally it would be the people affected so I thought I would do it the other way around for a change,” Kookie explained.

The format of the video takes place as a sports interview. Kookie does the interview as if he was the organisation personified. We are laughing so much, and thankfully, so is the rest of South Africa.

Kookie is an avid sports lover and recently joined a rugby-related podcast, “Rugby Bits“. Check out the hilarious Post Match Interview for Eskom in 2022 below.
