The man who ate KFC for a year a FREE... or did he?

The story about a South African man who apparently ate KFC for a year for free may not be true, but the response is still hilarious!

South Africa – Over the past few days, media houses around the globe have been reporting that a South African man was arrested for lying and eating free KFC for a year, but the reports were only created on social media… and it turns out the man doesn’t exist and the story never really happened.

According to reports on social media, a 27-year-old student was arrested for eating at KFC for free for a year in South Africa. He used to tell the employees that he was sent from the KFC headquarters for quality check.

“The man whose name has not been disclosed was a student of the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. He ate for free every day for a year from different KFC outlets by repeating the same story every time.

Every single time he used to walk into a KFC and with a lot of confidence and tell the employees that he was sent from the KFC headquarters for quality assurance of the food served in the restaurant.”

But KFC Africa’s public affairs director, Thabisa Mkhwanazi has released a statement to “Business Insider” explaining that the entire story is actually fake news.

“We follow strict operational processes. Any unauthorised individuals posing as KFC team members in our restaurants and head office would have been picked up immediately.”

That still hasn’t stopped social media and global media houses like The Daily Mail, CBS News and Ladbible from reporting on the ridiculous story.
