An advert from 2011 is currently trending and has South Africans laughing out loud; it is almost enough to get you to quit driving and stay home for level 2.

South Africa (17 August 2020) – An advert from 2011 is making the rounds on social media and we couldn’t help but laugh out loud! It is a MiWay insurance advert and shows Muriel and Mavis driving around in a car, or should we say, crashing around.

We all breathed a sigh of relief this weekend but we still need more reasons to laugh. We think that is why the advert started trending again. It gives you a real belly chuckle. The video was shared on Facebook in 2018 and it has over 2.2 million views to date.

Muriel and Mavis are fictional characters which makes the whole advert all the funnier but we all have seen the drivers on South African roads so it isn’t a far-fetched idea.

With the new regulations in place, it does mean the roads will probably get busier over the next few weeks. We hope the funny advert will also serve as a reminder to drive safe and to stay alert.

If you are not sure what the new level 2 means, you can find all about it here.
