South Africa (08 November 2022) – The Ndlovu Youth Choir has shared a cover of Rihanna’s new song “Lift Me Up” and it has given us goosebumps! The song is a tribute song and will be the lead single for the upcoming “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” movie.
Rihanna has made her return to music after a six-year break with a power ballad for the new Black Panther film, Wakanda Forever. The song “Lift Me Up” was written by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, and the film’s director Ryan Coogler was created as a tribute to Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 after a private battle with cancer.
The ballad was recorded across five different countries, and composer/producer Göransson previously spent extensive time in Senegal and South Africa to research his Black Panther score.
“Lift Me Up” will be the lead single of the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack and marks Rihanna’s first new music since 2016.
The Ndlovu Youth Choir was established in January 2009 to afford talented, underprivileged teenagers and young adults (14-24 years) the opportunity to perform locally and abroad proficiently. The choir consists of 30 choristers from the beautiful Moutse Valley in rural Limpopo, South Africa.
The now world-famous choir, is often inspired by fellow musicians and singers, doing some of the most beautiful song covers we have ever heard. This one is special and really touches the heart, especially because it is a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.
