Pokkel challenged a Stellenbosch University Campus Security officer to an epic dance-off during last night’s Varsity Cup game.

 

Western Cape, South Africa (11 March 2020) – The Stellenbosch University (SU) mascot, popularly known as Pokkel challenged a SU Campus Security officer to a dance-off during last night’s Varsity Cup game and some would say that he lost.

Campus Security is a service division which assists all students, staff and visitors in creating a safe environment for the university community. Security officers patrol the grounds of the university and are trained to ensure the safety of the university community and to assist in emergencies.

Stellenbosch University is a public research university situated in Stellenbosch, a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Stellenbosch is jointly the oldest university in South Africa and the oldest extant university in Sub-Saharan Africa alongside the University of Cape Town which received full university status on the same day in 1918. Stellenbosch University (abbreviated as SU) designed and manufactured Africa’s first microsatellite, SUNSAT, launched in 1999.
