The world held it’s breathe waiting on the announcement that was set to come from Buckingham Palace this morning. The reactions were pretty hilarious!
The Queen and Prince Phillip have left the internet in waves of annoyance and fits of giggles. This came after an emergency meeting was called at around 3am.
Immediately the internet started speculating what the cause of the meeting was. There were comments that the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip has passed away, that the Queen herself had passed or that the Queen was finally handing over her crown.
All of which was quickly swept under the rug when the official announcement was made earlier today. The announcement was that the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip would be retiring from public appearances. At age 95 we don’t blame him!
The internet however were less than pleased by the fact that leading up to the announcement, there was tons of drama and speculation. Only to receive an announcement that seemed a natural next step within the monarchy. Many posted their annoyances online but others took the announcement as a chance to have some fun.
