Cannabis memes

South Africa decriminalised cannabis for personal use just yesterday and already the internet has been flooded with funny and clever memes.

We shared the news yesterday about South Africa joining the ranks for over 20 countries that have legal and decriminalised laws surrounding cannabis usage. Some of those countries include the USA, the Netherlands, Spain, North Korea and even Israel.

Yesterday, Judge Raymond Zondo ruled that restricting people from using cannabis within the privacy of their own homes was unconstitutional.

These are some of the facts:

  • Smoking cannabis in public is illegal
  • Dealing cannabis is illegal
  • Growing small amounts for personal use within your home has been decriminalised.
  • Smoking cannabis within the privacy of your own home has been decriminalised.
  • It will take 2 years for Parliment to fix the law.
  • These rules do not apply to minors.

As part of the news, South Africans were quick to start creating funny marijuana memes. We asked all our followers to send in the ones they have seen and thought were really funny.

Many resturants have also jumped on the bandwagon and taken advantage of the “munchies” idea.

Take a look at all the best ones below.

Some people have hijacked a few brands to make thier memes.

“Azishe for those that don’t know means “let it burn”.” – Stephanie Whitehead

And then one company actually created an ad for their food during munchie time.

And these are the rest…

There are even some that state opinions against the use of cannabis.
