Marisa Laas has been looking forward to the leadup to Christmas 2022 for years; her grandaughter is finally old enough to understand “Elf on a Shelf” and they are having the best time looking for him every day.

Cape Town, South Africa (15 December 2022) – Marisa Laas and her husband Riaan have been having some fun with their grandchildren by adopting the American “Elf on a Shelf” concept. They call him “Stout Elf” which translates to naughty elf in English.

The couple has been making their granddaughter Clea’s day with all the naughty antics Stout Elf gets up to. Clea is 5 years old now so she understands when Stout Elf has been naughty. Her cousin Elijah, who is only one year old, has fun looking for the elf too.

Speaking to Porky’s People, Marisa explained how this time of year is her favourite and having grandchildren to share it with, makes it all the more special.

“Christmas is my favourite time of the year, and this year I was excited to finally get the opportunity to have Stout Elf in my home. My grandbabies are always amused by his antics, their reactions bring us so much joy”.

This is the first year Marisa has had the chance to play the elf game with the children. She has spent a good deal of time setting his adventures up each day. She has gotten creative, even getting Stout Elf involved in her decorative cake business; he got caught stealing cupcakes.
