The South African Film Industry is currently paused, waiting for the international borders to open fully; while they wait, they are having a bit of fun with the Jerusalema challenge.

On Heritage Day this year, the South African Film Industry took on the Jerusalema challenge, at the Cape Town Film Studios to showcase the broad variety of cultures and creatives ready for the borders to open and ready for work.
The film industry took a massive knock during the lockdown as it often relies on international productions for work. Thankfully, the borders are slowly reopening and hopefully soon, the thousands of jobs on hold will get back to business as usual.
Master KG’s song Jerusalema has become a global dancing challenge. Every week, we see a new video trending online of a group dancing to the now smash hit. Many South Africans took part in the challenge as part of Heritage Day.
Master KG is a 24-year-old rising star who comes from Calais Village, Limpopo. The song has shot him to success, even earning himself five award nominations for the African Muzik Magazine Awards (Afrimma). The five nominations have already meant that Master KG is the leading nominee for the awards.
To be honest, the unity this song has created, not just in South Africa, but on a global scale, Master KG deserves every accolade that comes his way. The YouTube video more than 147 million views, an incredible accomplishment! It is also the number 1 most Shazamed song in the world!
