Last year Lay’s South Africa quietly discontinued their Salt and Vinegar chips; when South Africans found out, they flipped out and rightly so! But now they are back!

South Africa (18 February 2021) – It is almost a year to the day that we shared the news about Lay’s discontinuing their Salt and Vinegar chips.

As a Salt and Vinegar fan, the news that Lay’s brought the flavour back to South Africa is very exciting. Salt and Vinegar flavoured chips are a must at every family get-together or braai!

Is your mouth watering just reading this? Us too! Anyway, so Lay’s South Africa discontinued their Salt and Vinegar flavour in February 2020 without making a public announcement. It was only when a Twitter user queried why she was unable to find the brands flavour, that they owned the giant mistake.

At the time, Simba Chips stepped forward to soothe the hearts of South Africans by reminding everyone that their crinkle-cut Salt and Vinegar chips were still on the shelf, along with some proudly South African flavours too.

Thankfully the company has come back to its senses and returned the South African favourite back to its former glory, even if the packaging is slightly different. Once again, they have made the change without letting the public know. We just happened to see them on the shelf at our local SPAR.

Have you seen the flavour back on your local’s shelves? We are so happy to share this good news with you all.

May you be blessed with many mouth-watering moments.
