If you are in full-swing planning mode for Christmas, getting the children involved is the best way to add more joy; the Santa Tracker is back for 2023 and will guarantee those kiddies get to bed in time for their special deliveries.

Global (13 December 2023) – With only 10 sleeps until Santa starts packing up the sleigh and getting ready for the big day, we thought we would remind all of you incredible parents, about the Google Santa Tracker.

Google’s Santa Tracker tells you how far he is from your location, the number of presents he has delivered so far, and even the weather conditions where he is.

Every Christmas Eve, the Google Santa Tracker begins to simulate tracking of Santa at about midnight in the furthest east time zone, about 10 am UTC, which is 12 pm South African time.

The map shows Santa alternating between travelling and handing out presents in cities. Santa appears to travel approximately one time zone west per hour. Counters simulate to viewers how far Santa has travelled so far, how long until he reaches the viewer’s city on the map, the distance from the viewer’s city, and the total number of presents delivered. Santa is depicted as having helpers with him, including the standard reindeer and elves, along with penguins and a snowman.

There are so many games to play while waiting for the live tracker to begin. The Google site offers hours of Christmas-related fun. You can find all the games here.
