Johannesburg, South Africa (6 May 2020) – This South African comedian is just too much… but we can’t get enough of him! Thulasizwe Dambusa is trending again, but this time his shop-teller characters are showing us what it’s like to shop in South Africa during lockdown.
Dambuza known professionally as Lasizwe Dambuza – is a South African Comedian, Television Personality, Radio host and actor. The social media star has made a big name for himself in South Africa by creating and posting hilarious video skits based on current affairs, he is also young brother to Khanyi Mbau but has never used this to boost his platform.
The 21-year-old says he started using humour to fight negativity when he was attacked because of his sexuality at school.
“One thing I learnt is that people don’t listen when the message is straight forward. When you implement humour and combine it with serious issues, someone will laugh about it and tell another person; then it becomes a topic.”
The social media star went viral in 2016 following the news of the Doom Pastor, a self-proclaimed prophet who sprayed Doom insecticide into his congregants’ faces, Dambusa posted a video in which he said he would “doom” negative people out of his life.
He has also been featured on Good Things Guy several times for “how different moms react when their cards decline“, “How different parents react when yelling at their kids!” and “The difference between Woolworths, Pick n Pay & Shoprite Cashiers“.
This time around, Dambuza has found himself in the top trending videos of the week after uploading Shoprite vs Woolworths vs Pick n Pay cashiers during the lockdown.
