Silver Surfer

People can’t get over how this Silver Surfer managed to catch speed going down an empty road, while the cyclist going down beside him hit over 60k/h.

Johannesburg, South Africa (22 January 2020) – South Africans are sitting gob-smacked after a video of a Silver Surfer aka an informal recycler, was sent out via WhatsApp. The guy on the trolley was hitting speeds of about 70km/h.

This isn’t the first time an informal recycler has been spotted speeding along. It is a common practice by the guys to get where they are going quickly, this is exactly how they earned the name Silver Surfers. They take advantage of the brief moment they don’t have recyclables.

While they rely on these rudimentary trolleys, people are doing more to help silver surfers do their jobs efficiently. One young man donated a specially designed bicycle to his favourite informal recycler, another helped push a trolley along on a busy morning and once a car even used its power to push a trolley up a very steep hill.

We have been told the road is a 60km/h speed zone so we can confirm he did break the speed limit and apparently there is a traffic camera so he may have even earned himself a complimentary photo.

Considering these men spend all day walking and pulling along heavy, overloaded trolleys, the downhill ride must have been a welcome change. Take a look at the video below.
