With only 95 followers, and 6 tweets… the “Has Zuma quit yet” Twitter account may be the funniest thing we’ve seen all week.

The account is only 5 days old, but we believe this one is definitely going to be one to watch… it says so in the bio.

There’s no word yet as to who created the Twitter handle but it seems as though it all started after the latest “ZumaGate” scandal and the fact that South Africans will always find some way to laugh during even the toughest of moments.

South Africa and parts of the world took to the streets and social media last week by the thousands to protest demanding the resignation of President Jacob Zuma.

Many were protesting for the first time ever in civil action sparked by Zuma’s Cabinet reshuffle, which saw the finance minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas fired. The rand fell against the US dollar and S&P and Fitch downgraded the country’s credit ratings to “junk status”.

Local and International media have all been reporting on South Africa’s current state of affairs while initiating complex discussions on governance, lack of leadership in the country and when or if Zuma will quit.

The new Twitter account has asked this simple question in its handle (Has Zuma Quit Yet) and has tweeted the same thing everyday since its inception… a simple, unpunctuated “No”.

And even with only 95 followers, users have started to retweet the account. What will the new Twitter account do next? I guess we’ll all “keep checking in for updates”.
