The Cape of Good Hope SPCA celebrated a huge and successful fundraising event known as the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon which has helped them raise money to support animals 24/7.

The 25th annual SPCA Wiggle Waggle Walkathon returned to delight over 520 wiggling dogs and more than 700 animal lovers on the 2nd of December 2018 at the School for Maths and Science in Firgrove Way, Tokai.

The SPCA Wiggle Waggle Walkathon is one of the most important fundraisers for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA. The funds raised will keep staff working 24/7 to protect animals from cruelty and unnecessary suffering across the entire Cape Metropole.

The crowds were entertained by the hilarious comedian Yaaseen Barnes ( and new cat parent ) incredible musical talent of Ezra Lingeveldt and a variety of delicious food stalls offering tasty treats – including doggie friendly summer snacks from Cool Dogs Ice Cream which was a tail-wagging hit with all furry friends.

Co-sponsors, MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet and DotSure.co.za are both proud supporters of animal welfare and continue to support the work of the CoGH SPCA by partnering up to host exciting events that promote pet wellness and raise awareness to the plight of so many animals in need.

“It’s no secret that one of the causes closest to our heart is the work done by dedicated South Africans to combat animal cruelty. When you show your love and support to your own best friend by taking out a policy on their behalf, you are simultaneously contributing to this worthwhile cause.” says David Roache, MD of pet insurance provider dotsure.co.za.

The SPCA was incredibly grateful to all that showed up and helped them raise a whopping R 141,900.00 towards protecting animals in need.

“We thank every single person for coming to support this year’s wonderful SPCA Wiggle Waggle Walkathon and hope to see you at the next walk in 2019!”
