Spash Cape Town Water Saving Mascot

Splash, the Cape Town water mascot has had some ‘plastic surgery’ and is looking a little friendlier… sort of.

We could call it, Splash… the revenge or Splash… version 2. Either way the Cape Town water mascot is looking much friendlier than the first time we met it.

The Mascot for saving water in Cape Town was revealed a few weeks ago but instead of a round of applause, his reveal was met with sheer terror… which reverberated around the world.

The concept of Splash was meant to be a friendly face but thanks to a bad design job, his face comes across as incredibly creepy. That inspired the idea of the mascot being introduced to scare people into saving.

Massive International news publications like the Daily Mail and Mashable reported on how scary the new water saving Mascot looked.

But luckily we have an upgrade!

We’re not entirely sure what’s changed… perhaps the eyes or maybe the mouth has been updated? But either way, the mascot is definitely looking less scary and more friendly.
