Stellenbosch University Choir have performed a beautiful rendition of Nkosi Sikelela iAfrika (God Bless Africa), and it’s giving us full-body chills.
Stellenbosch, South Africa – The Stellenbosch University Choir is the best choir in the world, they are currently ranked number one on the Interkultur World Choir Games list and are hoping to defend the title.
Recently they released a video of their rendition of Nkosi Sikelela iAfrika (God Bless Africa). They are refreshing everyone’s love of them. The performance is almost angelic and gives one full-body chills.
The choir is now raising funds to get to the 2020 Interkultur World Choir Games. They have 120 choir members to get overseas, so they are hoping the public will lend a helping hand.
“We are a mixed choir of 120 students who all attend Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Our choir has been voted the top choir in the world for five consecutive years. We are the only choir to have ever achieved 99,8 % scores in the Interkultur World Choir Games. We are extremely excited to be heading to Flanders in July 2020 to defend our title against 1,000 international choirs. As you can imagine, it is enormously expensive to get all 120 of us to Flanders so we need your help.”
They are set to head overseas from the 5th – 15th July 2020 to defend their position as the No.1 Choir in the World at the Interkultur Choir Games in Flanders, Belgium.
“We have worked hard over the past two years to be able to bring our best to the choir games.”
They are hoping to raise R1-million; this amount will help support the 31 students who are unable to cover their own costs and reduce each student contribution to R6000.00. If you would like to support the choir, you can contribute to their fund here.
