The Soweto Gospel Choir made a stop during their latest tour “Hope – It’s Been A Long Time” to perform on Good Morning Britain – giving expats a small piece of home.

United Kingdom (19 October 2022) – The Soweto Gospel Choir is nothing less than an international treasure. Since its formation in 2002, it has received more accolades than any other choir in the world and is a must see when on a world tour.

The choir is currently on tour in the United States of America but they made a quick detour to the United Kingdom to put on a show for Good Morning Britain.

They set off to the United Kingdom to take part in the 55th anniversary of Dr Martin Luther King’s visit to Newcastle University. They gave a performance at the Newcastle Cathedral and then visited Good Morning Britain.

Several UK-based South Africans caught the performance on the “telly” and gushed about how happy it made them to start the day with a taste of home.

The choir is known for the incredible energy and spirit the members bring to their music, as they fill the stage with their vibrant costumes, incredible vocals and songs that uplift and raise audiences to their feet.

The choir’s repertoire will include a mix of African gospel, traditional and international classics, dancing and drumming. It’s enough to get anyone onto their feet!

If you find yourself Stateside and keen to watch the choir, below are the tour dates.
