Heritage Day UK

Francine Higham is a South African abroad and one of the organisers for the South African Heritage Day celebrations. She shared a brilliant video of the day.

Francine Higham is a South African expat living abroad in the UK. She works as a Leader at Democratic Alliance Abroad. She also helped organise the third annual South African Heritage Day celebration. It took place at Wimbledon Park.

The day was filled with local and lekker goodies. From wine and food to awesome South African accessories.

People gathered together to celebrate our diverse country by braaing and having a proper ‘Saffa’ jol! One of the best moments was captured by Francine. A full blown South African dance circle.

The video is so good we felt our hearts filling with pride and our eyes a little too close to welling up. It looks like the day was a massive success and a hit for everyone involved.

“This is what makes organising the #HeritageDay event in London every year so worth it. Seeing the community come together and celebrate what makes us so special as South Africans… we certainly know how to have a good party.” – Francine Higham
