South Africans are sharing the latest online trend, to ask the internet “Wat se jy Google” and the answer is leaving us all in stiches.
The question, when asked in Google, directs the online user to various pages stating that Julius Malema is a Po*s.
Julius Sello Malema (born 3 March 1981) is a Member of Parliament and the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, a far-left and racial nationalist South African political party, which he founded in July 2013.
He previously served as President of the African National Congress Youth League from 2008 to 2012. Malema was a member of the ANC until his expulsion from the party in April 2012.
He occupies a notably controversial position in South African public and political life, having risen to prominence with his support for ANC president, and later President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma.
See a screen grab of the google question below:
The reason for this, is due to something called PageRank.
PageRank (PR) is an algorithm used by Google Search to rank websites in their search engine results. PageRank was named after Larry Page, one of the founders of Google. PageRank is a way of measuring the importance of website pages. According to Google:
“PageRank works by counting the number and quality of links to a page to determine a rough estimate of how important the website is. The underlying assumption is that more important websites are likely to receive more links from other websites.”
It is not the only algorithm used by Google to order search engine results, but it is the first algorithm that was used by the company, and it is the best-known.
And for some reason Julius has become the top PageRank when asking “Wat se jy google”.
That is fun to claim Malemas name he is useless but the name gave to Malema is good and nice you can use it
