The Welsh Rugby Union filmed their rugby players trying to decipher South African slang leading up to the match between SA and Wales in Cardiff.
Players from the Wales Rugby team had a hard time trying to decipher South African slang. The Welsh Rugby Union thought it would be funny to try and get the guys to explain typical slang words you would hear in SA. Hearing our favourite words in a Welsh accent was also pretty great!
The guys were given words and they had to try and guess what the meanings were. They had words like ‘Boet’, Sarmie’, ‘Goggo’ and ‘Domkop’. One of the video viewers said that it was the best thing he had ever seen on the internet.
Most of the guys got a couple right and we loved that one guy thought that a Braai was an island, how funny? South Africa has had some great hospitality while travelling for their games overseas and this is another great way to honour SA.
The South Africa vs. Wales game is this Saturday at 16:30 pm. You can watch the funny video below.
“How’s your knowledge of South African slang? We put the players to the test”
