Train Witchery

Woolworths have just announced a new limited edition product from “Witchery” and the comments on the post are just too hilarious.

Woolworths took to Facebook to announce a limited edition jacket that they were selling as part of their Witchery range.

Witchery, an iconic Australian brand was launched inside Woolworths in March 2014 and has had large success within the South African stable.

The brand is an Australian chain store specialising in women’s and children’s clothing, shoes and accessories.

“As one of the most inspiring of Australia’s big fashion brands, Witchery is a global style authority loved by Australians and New Zealanders since the 1970s.  Ahead of the curve, Witchery’s fashion radar casts a worldwide eye, delivering feminine, fashion-forward collections that capture the latest ready-to-wear runway trends.”

Some social media users who follow the Woolworths page had no idea that they stocked a brand called Witchery and were disgusted that the South African store had taken to satanism to sell clothing.

We’re not joking.

Woolworths Witchery

Comments varied from thinking it was an April Fool’s joke, to being shocked, or wanting to know if Woolworths was giving money to Satan?

One social media user even warned the brand that doing “this” would cause them a loss… as “Witchcraft is negative”.

We have however been assured that Woolworths is in fact not working with Satan or Witches, but we can assume that the hype around the post (because of the name confusion) may have led to better sales for the limited edition jacket.

We’re sorry you got confused but thank you people of the internet… for making us laugh out loud today.
