DEAFinition has put its South African Sign Language course on sale to encourage more people to sign up and learn, bridging the gap for the community.
South Africa (25 November 2022) – DEAFinition, a non-profit company that provide a range of services and funding opportunities to promote equal access for the Deaf community of South Africa. The team have launched a Black Friday deal on their sign language course so that more people will be able to join and learn.
The course was created by eDEAF, a proudly Deaf led organisation that offers training courses and learnership programmes to empower Deaf communities for business. The SASL online course is aimed at people aged sixteen years and older and consists of six easy-to-navigate modules and a short completion exam. It is available through the DEAFintion website: www.deafinition.co.za. The Black Friday deal sees the course going on sale for just R99.00.
The Deaf community is one of the most marginalised groups in South Africa due to the fact that they cannot communicate freely with the hearing world.
Communication is vital, and sign language is just as important as any spoken language. It bridges the gap for people with hearing difficulties and creates a much more equal society.
If you have always wanted to learn to sign, this is your chance.
You can also use the free DEAFinition South African Sign Language app which will allow you to learn specific signs to better communicate with Deaf friends, colleagues, or customers. The app will allow the user to browse words, look up specific words and request a word if it’s not available on the app. The SASL App is free and is available to download via Google Play and The App Store.
