The Angel Network needs a few volunteers to lend a helping hand with the Glenhazel Park soup kitchen that feeds park dwellers a hearty meal once a week.

Glenhazel, South Africa (05 September 2023) – The Angel Network is looking for volunteers who can help in running a small soup kitchen for the Glenhazel park dwellers in Johannesburg.

The organisation has spent the last few years feeding millions of South Africans and foreign nationals by supplying food parcels, stocking soup kitchen pantries and supplying funding to smaller organisations working on the ground in the poorest communities in South Africa.

Their continued support through feeding programmes has meant many children were able to eat each day, that men and women had the strength to face each unknown and that those who were sick had the strength to pull through and recover.

The Angel Network not only helps sustain feeding schemes, but they have also continued their efforts to help wherever needed. They educate, uplift and upskill people too!

Through 100 soup kitchens, the Angel Network is able to feed 300,000 people every month. The work they do is invaluable and goes a long way toward combatting hunger in South Africa.

They need a few helping hands to keep their Glenhazel Park soup kitchen running.

“We are looking for volunteers to run a soup kitchen in Glenhazel Park once every few months on a Sunday between 10.30 and 11 am. If you are interested, please WhatsApp your name and number to Glynne on 083 777 1621 and we will send you all the details. We would hate to have to stop feeding park dwellers who look forward to one home-cooked meal a week if we do not have volunteers.”

If you are based in the area and able to lend an hour or two, you can reach out via WhatsApp as mentioned above to offer your time.
