Angelina Jordan – the barefooted teen who WOWed the world at the beginning of the year – is back with her first single called “Million Miles”.

The United States of America (11 November 2020)Angelina Jordan – the 13-year-old who stunned the judges with her version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and immediately became the front runner to win America’s Got Talent: Champions – has released her first single called “Million Miles” and it is beautiful!

Angelina Jordan Astar (born 10 January 2006), known professionally as Angelina Jordan, is a Norwegian child singer who won the 2014 season of Norway’s Got Talent at just seven years old and then highlighted the start of the new season of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” in January 2020 with her rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”

After being courted by a number of record labels, Jordan signed with Republic, and has just released her debut single, “Million Miles.”

“From the very beginning of my career, I had offers to be signed, but my family and I wanted to wait and develop my talent for the right time,” she says, revealing a patience that belies her youth.

“I knew at a very early age that in order for me to accomplish bigger things in my life, I had to wait in order to make sure I created something meaningful. I chose Republic because I feel I have a long career with them. When I was finishing the song in the studio, one of the producers played the song for [founder and CEO] Monte Lipman. He wanted to sign me to Republic, to give me the opportunity to share my love, my music. I believe at that moment Republic saw my vision and understood me.”

Jordan felt that even while recording the song.

“When I was in the booth, while I was singing, my tears were running,” she says.

“To be honest, it was like a feeling of relief that all my feelings were written down and I felt relieved. “Million Miles” means a lot to me because it is relevant to these difficult times. I definitely want to share my love to everyone, and I hope that people can connect with it and relate to the story behind the song.”

America’s Got Talent: The Champions featured successful and notable participants from previous seasons returning to try again to win the show. What makes it hugely interesting is that this spin-off of the original show included winners, finalists and must-watch acts from worldwide editions of the franchise, creating a “United Nations” of talent.

The winner (who we will not reveal if you have not watched the show yet) walked away with US$25 000 (about R370,000).

“South Africa was represented by six-year-old DJ Arch Jnr (Oratilwe AJ Hlongwane), the youngest club DJ in the world and the winner of SA’s Got Talent in 2015. He makes his first appearance in the third episode. We’re not going to spoil it for you by revealing too much, but the little guy gets a standing ovation from all the judges, including Simon Cowell himself!”

Angelina currently lives in Oslo with her family, which includes a younger sister. She has previously lived in other countries, including the USA. Her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar (born 1984), is the daughter of Iranian artist Mery Zamani (born 1961).

Angelina is currently a pupil at Oslo Waldorf School and also attends the after-school program Oslo School of Music and Performing Art, where she receives vocal training. In addition to singing, she plays the piano, violin, and flute.

The talented young singer says that she sings barefoot on stages as a reminder that there are children around the world who are not as lucky as her. At six years old, during a cold winter, lina she saw a little girl almost the same age as her without any protection on her feet. And at just six years old, Angelina took her own shoes off and gave them to the child. She hopes to one day help more underprivileged children, through her singing.
