The Woodrock Animal Rescue is asking for donations of clothing and “bric n brac” to stock the charity shop which aims to raise much-needed funding.
Johannesburg, South Africa (31 October 2022) – Charity shops are the hidden gems of our society, and we often don’t know there is one close by until it is pointed out, so here is one we found and loved.
The concept of charity shops is actually brilliant as it is an effective way to donate and rid your home of unused items. The items are then sold to the public, and the proceeds are used to maintain the charity for which they operate.
Woodrock Animal Rescue was founded in 1992 by Nicholas and Stella, whose focus, passion and drive afforded their animal rescue vision to become a reality. They help, protect and care for thousands of animals each year.
The Animal Rescue Centre originated in the suburban area of Woodmead and Khyber Rock, hence the name Woodrock, but they are now based on 8.5 hectares in the beautiful Hennops River Valley.
The organisation has worked hard to rehome as many dogs as possible. To do this, they give their rescues makeovers so they can put their best paws forward. The animal rescue then shares the photos of the hopeful pups on social media, to try find them a loving forever home.
They have been feeling the pinch lately and decided to launch a charity shop which will help raise some much-needed funds.
“Please look around your home and in your cupboards and if you wish to throw out good used clothes or BRIC N BRAC we would be so grateful if we could collect for our charity shop to sell to raise MUCH NEEDED FUNDS.
So we are in a bit of a state. But, we March on!”
