Beyoncé's new single for the Lion King will give you all the feels!

Beyoncé has just dropped a new single called ‘Spirit’ ahead of her new collaboration album called “The Lion King: The Gift” which comes out on the 19th July 2019.

Global – The new uplifting song, “Spirit” is Beyoncé’s official descent into lioness stardom. On the track, she sings of the approaching greatness of a future leader as well as the importance of resiliency. Explaining the storytelling element of the song, she commented:

“Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery while listening to a new contemporary interpretation.”

“Spirit” is also included in The Lion King (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), which precedes the July 19 release of the 1994 remake of The Lion King. The track will also be included in The Lion King: The Gift, an album curated by Beyoncé which is inspired by The Lion King remake.

The Lion King follows the story of a young lion and his travails as he tries to become the king.

The new song starts off with a voice chanting “Uishi kwa muda mrefu mfalme” which means “Long live the king” and from there Beyoncé does what she does best, and sings a ballad that will give you all the feels.

The new album is set to feature the work of African producers according to Beyonce, who is quoted in a statement.

“It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me…”It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, hip-hop and Afro Beat.”

Listen to the new track below:

[Intro] Uishi kwa muda mrefu mfalme
(Uishi kwa uishi kwa)
Uishi kwa muda mrefu mfalme
(Uishi kwa, uishi kwa)

[Verse 1] Yeah, yeah, and the wind is talkin’
Yeah, yeah, for the very first time
With a melody that pulls you towards it
Paintin’ pictures of paradise

[Pre-Chorus] Sayin’ rise up
To the light in the sky, yeah
Watch the light lift your heart up
Burn your flame through the night, woah

[Chorus] Spirit, watch the heavens open
Yeah
Spirit, can you hear it callin’? (Callin’)
Yeah

[Verse 2] Yeah, yeah, and the water’s crashin’
Trying to keep your head up high
While you’re trembling, that’s when the magic happens
And the stars gather by, by your side

[Pre-Chorus] Sayin’ rise up
To the light in the sky, yeah
Let the light lift your heart up
Burn your flame through the night, yeah

[Chorus] Spirit, watch the heavens open
Yeah
Spirit, can you hear it callin’? (Callin’)
Yeah

[Post-Chorus] Your destiny is comin’ close
Stand up and fight

[Bridge] So go into that far off land
And be one with the Great I Am, I Am
A boy becomes a man, woah

[Chorus] Spirit, watch the heavens open
Yeah
Spirit, can you hear it callin’? (Callin’)
Yeah
Spirit, yeah, watch the heavens open, open
Yeah
Spirit, spirit, can you hear it callin’? (Callin’)
Yeah

[Post-Chorus] Your destiny is comin’ close
Stand up and fight

[Outro] So go into a far off land
And be one with the Great I Am
