More parents and caregivers will feel seen and supported, knowing their children are receiving the improved mobility they need as the Boikanyo The Dion Herson Foundation prepares to deliver hope and specialised wheelchairs to Vryburg ahead of the festive season.

Johannesburg, South Africa (23 October 2025) -The relief of a mother who bears more than most, the bright-eyed joy of a physically challenged child finally exploring the world beyond the confines of their bed, and their shared warmth of being seen and supported in ways that truly matter.

These experiences beautifully capture the priceless gift the Boikanyo The Dion Herson Foundation offers to countless families in need, often situated on the outskirts of the essential care and support they desperately require.

In less than a month, Boikanyo, in collaboration with The Paige Project and Rotary Club of Rosebank, will once again join forces to deliver hope, joy and buggies (specialised wheelchairs for profoundly disabled children) in their last outreach for the year –  this time in Vryburg, North West Province.

As part of the initiative, the organisation will run buggy recycling and renovation workshops for about seven hospitals in the Ruth Mompati District.

“There are so many children needing these precious mobility devices, and we have the capability of lending a hand to these families who really understand the true meaning of unconditional love,” Boikanyo explains.

“As the festive season nears, it is only fitting to be able to gift these phenomenal caregivers and children with a gift that will change their reality.”

Imagine a child being fed without fear or their joy of experiencing family time on Christmas Day, knowing that someone cared enough to give them the unique gift of a comfort they have never known.

“It always feels like we have a partnership with the next world with regards to this project, and once again the Universe is seeing to it that these giant souls in such broken bodies are not forgotten.”

Boikanyo further expressed its gratitude to its sponsors, who always step up to the plate and to its volunteers who give so much of themselves for others.

“Our work is almost done for this year. Our next outreach to the Free State will take place at the end of January 2026.”
