There are several events taking place over the next week in support of cancer awareness; these are the walks you can take part in.
South Africa (24 October 2022) – Taking part in a cancer walk is an easy way to give back, spend quality time with loved ones and get active. We have been sent a few so thought a list of the upcoming cancer walks would be useful.
Each event is hosted by either a charity or an organisation that will then contribute towards a chosen charity.
We have listed the organisation, the location and the date of the event. If we have missed an event, let us know.
Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer – Gquberha, East London and George – 05 November 2022
Algoa FM is hosting its annual Big Walk for Cancer on the 5th of November this year. They will be raising funds for CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa.
“The Algoa FM Big Walk For Cancer is the biggest charity event in the Eastern Cape. This year’s event will be happening live in three locations: Gqeberha, East London and George! You can still participate virtually from anywhere in the world!”

Screen Her Save Her and TrailAdventure – Centurion – 29 October 2022
Non-profit Screen Her Save Her and TrailAdventure have teamed up to host a walk at Big Red Barn in Centurion on the 29th of October. Tickets cost R150 for the 5km fun run. The organisation focuses on breast cancer.
“We are very happy to announce that TrailAdventure and Screen Her Save Her – Non profit have joined force to put together a awesome fun run 5km at the Big Red Barn. Come dressed in pink and support Breast cancer awareness and get some good exercise.”

South Africa United Against Cancer (S.A.U.A.C) – Johannesburg – 29 October 2022
The S.A.U.A.C is hosting an event at Zoo Lake on the 29th of October. The organisation is charging R95 per entry and there will be lots to do after the 5km and 8km walks.
“Join us at Zoo Lake on the 29th Oct 2022 for our 2nd annual S.A.U.A.C Wellness Walk Against Cancer 5KM & 8KM route, this year we are bigger and better! We will be bringing you a fun-filled and inspiring event packed with live entertainment, kiddies play areas, aerobics and health screening.”
