Thanks to our heroes in uniforms, aprons, overalls, gowns and masks; we’ll get through this, thanks to you.

Cape Town, South Africa (24 April 2020) – The City of Cape Town has created a beautiful video to pay tribute to all the COVID-19 heroes!

Despite the hardships and health risks, millions of essential frontline workers continue to do their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

These hardworking heroes are keeping South Africans fed, picking up their trash, providing them life-saving medicine, delivering their groceries and packages, preparing their food, cleaning their hospitals, caring for those who are most vulnerable and keeping us safe – often while earning low wages and few benefits.

Across the country, every night between 7 pm and 8 pm communities take to their windows, balconies, gardens and gates to cheer for our COVID-19 heroes. It is truly heart-warming to see a nation thanking the people who are on the frontline, helping us get through this.

The city of Cape Town put together a beautiful video to thank all these heroes across the entire country!

“Thanks to our heroes in uniforms, aprons, overalls, gowns and masks; we’ll get through this, thanks to you.”
