Cape Town’s Toy Run was a success! Thousands of bikers got together on Sunday and cashed in toys for a ticket to ride!

Cape Town, South Africa (02 December 2025) – The Mother City showed up in full force for this year’s Toy Run and it shows! Three massive trucks were loaded with toys collected in just one day.

Thousands of motorcyclists, plus plenty of families and supporters on foot, rolled into Killarney International Raceway on Sunday for the 43rd edition of South Africa’s largest charity motorcycle ride.

Tickets didn’t cost a thing. Free entry was granted into the event in exchange for a donated toy. As engines revved into force, kindness came by the truck-load. Literally.

“Thank you to all the bikers and others who supported the Toy Run today. An amazing turnout.. 3 trucks were filled. Tomorrow I and my volunteers start sorting toys for the children’s homes. I will keep you updated on our progress.” shared the Toy Run.

This year, over 93 applicants need more than 25,000 toys in time for Christmas.

The ride on Sunday saw crowds gather at Killarney International Raceway in support as the convoy made its way there. Joining this year’s convoy was the Mother City’s kindest bikers and The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service who collected toys at fire stations throughout November.

“Africa’s largest charity motorcycle event saw riders depart from N1 City and Athlone Stadium, converging in a powerful display of community spirit and generosity.” shared Killarney International Raceway.

The Toy Run is one of the most hopeful days of the year for many charities across the Western Cape. The toys collected go to homes, orphanages, places of safety, hospitals and community organisations all relying on this single event to make December a little brighter for thousands of children.

Last year, organisers handed out just over 12,000 toys. This year’s final count isn’t in yet, but with three trucks filled to the brim, the results look promising.

And if you missed the event but still want to help, Toy Run Cape Town says it’s not too late. You can still donate a virtual toy via SnapScan, helping them reach the thousands of children still on their list. Find out more here.

Cape Town rode hard for a good cause this weekend, and thanks to that, Father Christmas will reach more kids in need.
