In a heartwarming display of dedication, 40 passionate runners will take on the gruelling 56km Two Oceans Marathon, all for the love of South Africa’s children!
Cape Town, South Africa (06 March 2025) – Children should be put first in society. This is the core belief of the 40 Centre for Early Childhood Development charity runners who are ready to take on the intense 56km Two Oceans Marathon on 5-6 April with the well-being of children in mind!
The Centre for Early Childhood Development (CECD) is dedicated to ensuring that all young children in South Africa have access to quality early childhood development opportunities.
Based in Cape Town, the charity provides nationwide services and programmes, as well as training, resources, and support in the field of early childhood development, enhancing individual and organisational capacity.
“Our charity runners have chosen to take steps to help raise funds for our organisation. Every step our runners take brings us closer to a brighter future for South Africa’s young children,” explains CECD.
Funds raised will help provide training and resources to ECD teachers and principals, support vulnerable children and families and advocate for policies that prioritise young children’s needs.
With each determined step, these runners won’t just be covering distance; they’ll be paving the way for a brighter future.
CECD member and charity runner Bridget Kahts is excited to be part of this iconic race because she believes in the cause.
“This year I’m so excited to be joining the people who will be running the Two Oceans and I would like everyone to join us as we fundraise for our organisation,” says Bridget.
