Community-Led Animal Welfare is hoping to collect IBR roofing sheets to create a barrier between the relentless rain and their dog kennels.
Johannesburg, South Africa (15 December 2022) – Community-Led Animal Welfare (CLAW) is hoping to rally the community to support their drive to collect fibreglass and plastic IBR roofing to help protect the kennels from heavy rain. Gauteng is being lashed by constant rains which are causing flooding. The extra protection will help them keep animals warm, safe and dry.
CLAW has spent the last two decades working in impoverished communities where traditional veterinary services are often unavailable. CLAW provides desperately needed veterinary services to dogs and cats, as well as vital animal care education to pet owners in Johannesburg’s poorest township areas.
CLAW has not only established a reputation for helping animals within townships; the organisation works closely with community-based organisations, schools, the Department of Agriculture and veterinary services around the city. They distribute food parcels, facilitate home-based care programmes to teach people how to care for the sick and dying, run food gardens, support child-headed households and help communities to access health and hospice care.
They are currently struggling through the rain and need to find cost effective and easy ways to protect the outdoor dog kennels. They have started collecting IBR plastic and fibreglass roofing which can be used to put up barrriers between the kennels and the naturall elements.
“With all the rain and flooding that we’ve had, we are hoping to build some protection for our doggy kennels and need some plastic roof sheeting.
Maybe you have some old sheeting or a few pieces you haven’t used…
Please consider us”
