Dogtown has launched an initiative to support all its lady dogs currently living at the organisation; they are encouraging the public to sponsor their dogs in honour of Women’s Day.

South Africa (26 July 2023)Dogtown SA Animal Rescue Centre takes in animals in need. Many of those are lady dogs that come in heavily pregnant, underfed and neglected. This Women’s Day, they hope to treat all the lady dogs thanks to sponsorships from the public.

Based in Pretoria, Dogtown SA is perfectly situated to make an impact in Northern Gauteng. They have several facilities that cater to the varied needs of rescues; from a specialised rehabilitation centre that focuses on behavioural issues, to the retirement village that houses their senior dogs. Dogtown has a team of 10 full-time certified trainers and behaviourists that work with the animals in their care.

In honour of Women’s Day, the team have a sponsorship initiative to help the lady dogs in their care. This is how you can help.

“It’s nearly time to celebrate National Women’s Day on 9 August, so, it seems fitting to put our beautiful Lady Dogs in the spotlight.

There are many at our special centre. Some are young, some are senior citizens, most came from unpleasant backgrounds.

But they all have one thing in common – they long for homes of their own.

If you are not able to adopt, please will you sponsor one or more of these Precious Souls.”

If you would like to sponsor a lady dog, you can find the banking details below or find other ways to help on the website here. The team will also be at the Asher’s Women’s Day Market in Pretoria this year so you can pop in to support the team.
