We can beat them, forever and ever! Oh, we can be Heroes, just for one day!

Cape Town, South Africa (6 April 2020) – Who knew that being a hero in 2020, would mean just staying home? Well, this drone video is a beautiful reminder of just that!

Many things have changed in the first week of the entire country being in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The world is facing an unprecedented time.

With over 1655 cases of coronavirus recorded in South Africa, there is no denying that the statistics surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic can feel overwhelming, and at times we may think that we are alone in this, but the whole world is facing this pandemic, separated in our homes but together.

The virus has to date infected over 1,2 million people globally, resulting in more than 69 000 deaths, leaving more than two billion people around the world in some form of lockdown or self-isolation.

A beautiful video created by Gershwin Williams, a South African Youtuber, has started going viral for all the right reasons! The 5-minute drone video shows the city of Cape Town from the sky during the lockdown, but its the backing track he uses that is a reminder of how being a hero in 2020, means just staying home.
