As our children head back to school, it is important we teach them how to take care of themselves during the pandemic, and this educational video could help.

South Africa (05 February 2021) – Young children are heading back to school and it is vital they understand the risks of not following standard hygiene methods, the importance of masks and social distancing. Waste management company Averda created a free educational video to help children understand all the new rules.

The educational videos have been made available for free and are easy to download and share at home or in the classroom. The videos also come in English, isiZulu, and Sesotho.

“Many of us at Averda are parents ourselves and know it is not an easy task to protect children against the dangers they will face. We hope the video will contribute to educating families to better protect themselves from the pandemic.

“Teaching children the importance of good personal hygiene is now more important than ever before. We hope that our new educational animated video will help parents and caregivers to have this critical conversation with their kids.” – Brindha Roberts, Head of sustainability at Averda

Some of the things included in the videos are handwashing techniques, staying 2 meters away from people, covering your mouth when sneezing or coughing and avoiding touching your face.

You can find the videos for free downloading via Dropbox here.
