If you are dreaming of a holiday somewhere far away, we have the perfect movie watchlist to help you get to your perfect destination.

Global (28 September 2020) – All international holidays are pretty-much not happening this year so if you are in need of a holiday but can’t even leave the house, these movies are perfect for escaping reality for a few hours.

Escapism is a very real thing, it is the tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant realities, especially by seeking entertainment or engaging in fantasy. From playing video games to reading books or binge-watching series and movies, we all have different ways in which we escape the draining day-to-day reality that is 2020.

We are in need of a holiday and while a game or book would be just as effective, we need to see the beautiful destinations we are missing out on and what better way to do that than to watch movies set in beautiful places.

Many of these movies have great story-lines but it is the celebration of the destinations in which they are set that really makes us happy.

So get your best holiday hat on, salt your popcorn and get ready to go on holiday right there on your couch.

Under the Tuscan Sun

We all dream of going on holiday only to find our dream home, buying it, starting a new life and falling in love. Under the Tuscan Sun is all this and a celebration of rural Italy.

We just swoon at the idea of olive picking and eating grapes fresh from the farmers market.

Eat, Pray, Love

Eat Pray Love is a global journey, from beautiful Italy to spiritual India and tropical Bali. This story is based on a true story of Elizabeth Gilbert’s journey to finding herself again

The movie is a love letter to the three countries in which Gilbert lived over a year.

Mamma Mia

Who doesn’t love Abba? The music is a mere bonus to the stunning island highlighted in the movie. You will be running to pack your bags before the movie is even over!

Into The Wild

This movie is based on a true story and the bus in question has since been removed to help deter people from trekking to find it but the idea of running away into the wild is one many can relate to.
