The Two Oceans Aquarium is once again opening their doors to hopeful students that wish to follow a career in Marine Biology.
Cape Town, South Africa (03 February 2020) – The Two Oceans Aquarium is all about education, they work to educate the public that visits the aquarium as well as children with a keen interest in Marine Sciences. They offer course to students from pre-school to matric.
This year they are continuing their efforts in offering studies to South African children and young adults.
“The Two Oceans Aquarium will again be running courses for FET phase learners in 2020. The courses are offered, at no charge, to 50 grade 11s and 12s who show a keen interest in marine sciences and who may wish to pursue a career in this field.”
The purpose of their course is to provide important basic principles and terminology in the marine sciences. The course also adds to the students existing knowledge in Physical Science and Life Science school subjects.
The course for grade 10s to grade 12s is now open for application so should you or your child wish to apply, below is all the information they may need.
About the course
This introduction to Phytoplankton, Algae and Animal Phyla in South African coastal waters will equip participants with knowledge of core concepts and terminology that they will be expected to understand and apply in Tertiary Marine Sciences courses. Although this is a content loaded course, serving as a bridge to tertiary studies, there will be the opportunity to interact with and practically investigate as many of the organisms introduced, as possible.
