Funda Nenja is looking for a volunteer with a passion for taking photos; they need a dedicated photographer to capture all the heartwarming moments on training days.
Howick, South Africa (20 June 2023) – If you are based in or near the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, have a passion for photography and a heart that wants to do more in support of the community, Funda Nenja needs you! They are looking for a volunteer that will be able to photograph their training days; the pictures which are shared online and tell heartwarming stories, aid in raising awareness and funds for the cause.
Funda Nenja, a dog training initiative, runs in the township of Mpophomeni, near Howick, in the KZN Midlands of South Africa. They focus on animal welfare in the area by providing dog training lessons to the children and much-needed vaccinations for their beloved dogs.
These lessons teach the dogs some obedience skills but also help the children bond with their pets to form a deeper connection. The classes help educate children about animal welfare and encourage them to show their families how to treat animals too.
The classes are hosted each week, and as part of the programme, the dogs involved get checked up by the primary veterinary clinic. Any animals not inoculated yet, get it done right there.
Over the years, the Funda Nenja model has proven to be a great success. Sadly, they had to bid farewell to their volunteer photographer and have struggled to fill the gap. The team shared a plea online in the hopes of meeting a new volunteer photographer who is looking for a cause to support. The best part is you don’t even need to be a professional, just a passion for taking photos is needed here!
“Funda Nenja is needing someone who could take photos of our Friday afternoon activities at the dog school in Mpophomeni, either with a cellphone or a camera, about twice a month. We use these images on social media and for funding reports. Since we lost our last volunteer photographer, our management team has had to fit this job in amongst everything else that needs to be done on our busy Friday afternoons, and sometimes we just don’t find the time!
If you can assist please contact adrienne@fundanenja.co.za.”
