Good Hood Stories was launched to highlight all the good things happening in neighbourhoods around South Africa; the first 4 episodes are live!
Cape Town, South Africa (22 July 2021) – What good is happening in your hood? That is the question posed by the South African Cities Network; the responses were turned into a series called the Good Hood Stories.
“We asked residents to submit stories of good practice taking place in their cities, and chose 4 to profile and make videos about. The purpose was to learn from good practice – particularly innovative partnership approaches. And to share wisdom and lessons for other urban practitioners.”
The South African Cities Network (SACN) is an established network of South African cities and partners that encourages exchanging information, experience and best practice on urban development and city management.
Working together with South African cities and partners through research, knowledge sharing, peer learning and innovation, the SACN is at the forefront of efforts to achieve the urban futures vision outlined in the Integrated Urban Development Framework and the National Development Plan.
The series looks at initiatives in some of South Africa’s most prominent cities. From being able to cycle tour through Langa, Cape Town to Roof Top Urban Gardens in Johannesburg. Other cities include Durban and Gqeberha.
