Ahead of warmer seasons, Chic Mamas Do Care is hosting a swapping session where the spring clothes that won’t make the cut in your closet can be put to the kindest use.

Cape Town, South Africa (10 August, 2023) — As a few rays of hopeful weather remind Cape Town that summer will eventually return, some of us may have already packed out our spring and summer favourites in anticipation. Among the people packing out spring goodness are the team at Chic Mamas Do Care who are gearing up to kickstart spring in the best fashion—sharing and caring.

Chic Mamas is hosting a swapping session where the spring clothes that won’t make the cut in your closet can be put to the kindest use.

How to join in on the Spring Swap4Charity

You can bring items to Chic Mamas for their Swap4Charity event in Wynberg today, tomorrow or Saturday (10, 11, 12 August), and get tokens in exchange to shop for preloved items for yourself.

All you need is a few spring-ready items taking up closet space (4-6 max in a paper bag) and you’re in the mix!

If the items aren’t eligible to be resold, they will head off to the various communities and projects Chic Mamas supports, while resold items’ funds will go on to Chic Mamas’ supporting projects.

Who Are The Chicest Mamas?

Chic Mamas Do Care is a network of wholesome fashion havens and charity shops founded by Abigél Sheridan. Their shops are scattered across South Africa where preloved pieces get to do more good than they ever would chilling in a closet! Pieces are donated and resold, and the profits head off to make big differences in communities all over.

Through a lot of fashion and even more heart, Chic Mamas has donated millions of rands to organisations including True-North ECD, the Life Matters Foundation and the Butterfly Art Project amongst others all over SA.

Even if you can’t make this spring swapping session, you can part with your preloveds at any time and at locations near you.
