It is the American Dream to attend a university like Harvard and now they have opened their hearts to share some interesting online courses for free!
Global (15 April 2020) – Be it a love of art, the humanities, coding and programming, or the sciences, Harvard University has a selection of courses that anyone can enrol in for free. The famed university has a selection of courses that range from 4-weeks to 11-weeks. The perfect way to pass lockdown or self-isolation hours.
We browsed the offerings and found the following to be quite useful. The first is “Backyard Meteorology: The Science of Weather“. The course is a great introduction, it only requires 3 to 5 hours a week and is self-paced. Over-all the course is 6-weeks long and by the end, you earn a verified certificate.
The next courses on our radars were the “Data Science: Productivity Tools” and “Contract Law: From Trust to Promise to Contract“. Both courses can be useful and only require several hours a week. The courses end after 8-weeks, are self-paced (which means you could end sooner) and in the end, earn you a verified certificate.
These are just courses that interest us, if you want to see what else is available, take a look through the offerings. As mentioned by the title, there are 64 courses in total for you to choose from.
If your child is in high school, there are several Shakespeare courses as well that could line up well with their English coursework for the year. These range from Othello and Hamlet to Merchant of Venice and his life’s works.
Which courses sound most exciting to you? Let us know if you plan on enrolling.
UPDATE: We have been informed that the courses are free but one needs to pay a fee of $49 to access the verified certificate.
