Global (10 February 2022) – Adele’s “I Drink Wine” performance at the 2022 BRIT Awards is rapidly being shared online.

The soulful, bluesy composition conveys the struggles in a relationship and the efforts that go into making it work. Lyrically, the song is a reference to Adele’s recent divorce from her husband Simon Konecki.

“You better believe I’m trying to keep climbing / But the higher we climb, feels like we’re both none the wiser,” she belts out in the refrain.

But the songstress didn’t just drink wine at the Brits, she also took home three awards, including Album of the Year for ‘30′.

The other nominees in this competitive category were Dave with ‘We’re Alone In This Together’, Ed Sheeran with ‘=’, Little Simz with ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ & Sam Fender with ‘Seventeen Going Under’.

This is the third time Adele has won a BRIT Award for Mastercard Album of the year, having previously picked up the award for her sophomore album ’21’ and again for her 2015 release, ‘25’. Adele has said her album ‘30’ was written to explain her divorce to her son Angelo and includes intimate voice notes between the pair. This poignant album is perhaps her most personal offering and will be sure to give fans a glimpse into the artist’s life since releasing ‘25’ in 2015.
