Today is International Happiness Day and these are some things you can do today to spread happiness plus some bonus feel-good quotes.

Johannesburg, South Africa (20 March 2018) – Being able to share the good news with you all every day, brings us joy and happiness. Today is no different except that today is International Happiness Day so it is even more important to spread happiness than any other day.

“This International Day of Happiness is more than just a fun celebration, it also reminds us all that the world is a better place when we connect with and care about the people around us” – Dr Mark Williamson

There has been a profound shift in attitudes all over the world. People now recognise that ‘progress’ should be about increasing human happiness and wellbeing, not just growing the economy.

March 20 was established as the annual International Day of Happiness and all 193 United Nations member states have adopted a resolution calling for happiness to be given greater priority.

Today on the International Day of Happiness we are reminded that our actions matter and that each of us can help build a more compassionate world, wherever we are.

Here are three ways that you can spread happiness today:

Share Positive Messages!

Spread ideas that promote peace, kindness and understanding, online and in real life.

Connect with people!

Reach out to people who you know are connected to a crisis and offer your care and support.

Give directly!

Donate to causes working on the front line of a crisis or find a way to help with local efforts.

  • Find three good things in your life right now.
  • Look at the good in those around you.
  • “If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely” – Roald Dahl
  • Make coffee for someone in the office.
  • Smile at everyone you meet.
  • Say “Thank You” to the people you are grateful for.
  • Do things for others – this is a fundamental key to happiness in life.
  • “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” – Aesop
  • Connect and relate to someone, people thrive on how you make them feel and understanding is key.
  • Set attainable goals for yourself, achieving these is a massive happiness booster.
  • Accept the things about yourself you may not love. The more positive you are about yourself, the more positive the world becomes.

By doing one or all of these things, you are bound to be flooded with happiness. Let us know in the comment sections, what you do to boost happiness?
