The Johannesburg SPCA has created a delicious Christmas lunch menu for their dogs, cats and farm animals, which will be enjoyed on the 24th of December 2024. Do you have lunch to spare?
Johannesburg, South Africa (22 November 2024) – Who doesn’t love a delicious Christmas feast? The Johannesburg SPCA has sent out a Christmas appeal to help them tick off a few items on this year’s Christmas lunch menu. The items are specifically for the dogs, cats and farm animals that will be spending the festive season at the shelter.
Gammon may be on the lunch menu for humans, but it’s tasty chicken and rice for dogs, tuna for cats, and crispy carrots and apples for farm animals. These treats are not an everyday event, so the team hopes to make it an extra special day for the animals.
They have asked for donations of chicken, rice, tuna, pilchards (plain, please), carrots and apples. These simple grocery items are inexpensive and will make for some very merry bellies.
Not only can you donate food items, but you can head over to the SPCA on the 24th between 9 am and 12 pm to spend time with the animals and help feed them these delicious treats.
Christmas lunch will be fed on the 24th of December – if you want to pop through and help with the feeding and spend some time walking the animals or playing with them, pop in between 9 – 12.
Donations can be dropped off at our main reception.
