Even when times are hard, the spirit of supporting one another shines brightly in our country. The Kindness Like Confetti (KLC) Johannesburg team is proving just that, creatively combining two of its heartwarming projects to bring joy and essential support to young girls.

Johannesburg, South Africa (27 February 2025) – It’s so heartwarming to see that even though times are tough for many South Africans just trying to get by, the drivers behind causes to help bring comfort, a hand-up, or vital essentials continue to go against the grain.

One such cause is the Kindness Like Confetti (KLC) Johannesburg branch which has, even in the midst of the country’s toughest times, decided to creatively merge two of its projects to support girls in need while spreading a little Easter goodness, too!

“We are excited to announce that our two projects, Pad Princess (providing sanitary ware products to school girls) and the Joseph Jersey Project (creating beautiful handmade knit and crochet items), are coming together for a special Easter Scrunchie Drive,” KLC said.

These scrunchies, knitted with love and disadvantaged girls in mind, will be added to the sanitaryware hampers KLC packs and provides.

Young girls need to be just that – girls – and immerse themselves in all things cute! So, while a scrunchie may be a simple hair accessory at first glance, it’s a sweet and thoughtful surprise to girls who don’t often get to delight in these simple thrills due to the challenging circumstances they face on a daily.

If you are a knitter keen on flexing some of your skills, your support in creating these colourful, handmade scrunchies will help spread some joy and confidence to many young girls this Easter.
