Kitty

Danel Morkel has shared a post that could break the internet with its cuteness! Her dad was all set to adopt this kitty, but then she became a foster mom.

Velddrif, Western Cape – Danel Morkel has shared videos of a cat her dad was due to adopt that has become a beacon of love. The kitty lost her litter of kittens when a dog attacked and killed them all. It was heartbreaking for all involved.

At the same time, a litter of puppies had been dumped at an animal care centre in Velddrif. The fieldworker that took the puppies in didn’t realise that the puppies were so young, once they learned the puppies were just three weeks old, they quickly sought assistance to find someone to bottle feed the puppies.

Danel’s dad had agreed to adopt the kitty. He was waiting for her to be sterilised before he could take her home. Danel received the news that the kitty’s adoption would need to be put on hold as she had not yet been sterilised.

“My dad is adopting a cat. Her litter of kittens was killed by a dog. She was supposed to be sterilised last week and my dad was to collect her today. He was however informed that she has not been sterilised yet”

In the pictures and videos, the kitty can be seen nursing the tiny little puppies. The foster mom looking after the cat also took in the puppies. She was planning to bottle feed them, but the cat took over. Danel shared the message she got from the foster mom.

“They were handed in as unwanted. The father and mother dogs are in Redelinghuys. They dropped pups off at Velddrift animal care and the field worker didn’t realise the pups were only 3-weeks-old, so too young initially to be away from their mom. We had a volunteer that did the first-week bottle feed etc and then last week they came to me and the cat took over so they now 5 weeks old and doing very well!!”

Once the cat has weened the puppies, she can get sterilised and then move in with Danel’s father. Take a look at the adorable videos of her feeding and loving the puppies.
