The Ladles of Love Sarmiethon challenge aims to raise funds to provide daily meals for thousands of vulnerable children and make a staggering 80,000 delicious sandwiches for their snack time.

Cape Town, South Africa (28 October 2024) – Whether you love it with peanut butter and jam, cheese and tomato or chicken and mayo, a tasty sandwich is an easy go-to at lunchtime or just about whenever hunger strikes!

Gearing up to spread some goodness for World Sandwich Day on 1 November is Ladles of Love with its most exciting sandwich-spreading showdown of the year!

The organisation’s annual Sarmiethon Challenge is set to challenge Cape Town and Johannesburg businesses to raise funds to provide preschool children in their nutrition programme with as many daily meals as possible, as well as make 80,000 delicious sandwiches for their snack time.

“Every sandwich spread and every meal funded helps ensure that vulnerable children receive daily nutrition through our Nourish Our Children programme.

“Corporate teams will be hosted at Makers Landing V&A Waterfront, Cape Town and AtEds in Houghton, Johannesburg where they battle it out to see who can spread sarmies the fastest to win the champions trophy,” Ladles of Love shares.

There will also be other fun prizes up for grabs for participants on the day, putting a very fun spin on team building while serving the less fortunate.

“A huge thank you to the incredible teams that have already signed up – your commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring!”

With the main event taking place on Friday, 1 November there is still time to join the fun and make a lasting impact on the lives of children in need.
