Amelia Anisovych was invited to sing the Ukrainian national anthem at a charity event in aid of providing support to Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
Global (22 March 2022) – A young Ukrainian girl named Amelia Anisovych went viral after singing ‘Let It Go’ earlier this month while taking cover in a shelter as Russian forces destroyed their homes and the stars of Disney’s Frozen are taking notice.
The video, originally shared on Facebook, showed Amelia serenading her neighbours in a shelter with the song “Let It Go” in Ukrainian.
Kristen Anderson-Lopez – the American songwriter and lyricist known for co-writing the songs for the 2013 computer-animated musical film Frozen and its 2019 sequel Frozen II with her husband Robert Lopez – reached out to Amelia with a heartfelt post after seeing the viral video.
Now, a few weeks later, Amelia and her brother are safely in Poland with their grandmother. Her parents are still in Ukraine. Amelia was invited to sing at a charity concert held at Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland. She sang the Ukrainian national anthem dressed in a traditional outfit of pink with beautiful embroidered blue and red flowers.
Thousands of people were in attendance at the concert called “Together with Ukraine”. The funds raised are set to go towards the Polish Humanitarian Action group. The group is working to provide psychological support and aid for refugees from Ukraine.
“Our top priority is to lend support to the most vulnerable groups: elderly people, women, and children. We are able to reach them thanks to our co-operation with local partners.” – Polish Humanitatian Action
