“They never had a pretty girl from Joburg” – South African sensation Tyla stuns at the Met Gala with a gritty and glamorous Balmain gown!

New York City, United States of America (07 May 2024) – South African sensation Tyla has captivated audiences worldwide with her stunning appearance at the Met Gala.

Fondly known as “fashion’s ultimate soirée,” the Met Gala is not just a glitzy affair but a heartwarming fundraising event dedicated to supporting the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Embracing the 2024 theme of “The Garden of Time,” Tyla graced the red carpet in a Balmain masterpiece that exuded both grit and glamour, perfectly encapsulating the sands of time with a body-hugging gown adorned with glittering embellishments.

Just like her lyrics in the empowering anthem “Jump,” Tyla once again shattered stereotypes and defied expectations, proving that beauty knows no bounds and hailing proudly, “They never had a pretty girl from Joburg.”

As she shared with Met Gala red carpet host La La Anthony, her ensemble was a representation of the sands of time itself, a bold departure from convention (and her Water song) that perfectly complemented the evening’s theme.

“I’m wearing sand, basically, the sands of time. We really wanted something out of the box for this year. I walked with Balmain; it’s my first time at the Met,” she told Met Gala red carpet host La La Anthony. “It feels amazing; I’m so excited to go inside and see all the pictures when I go home…. I just love the outfit and how everything turned out.”

The fashion world was quick to notice Tyla’s sartorial triumph, with renowned publications praising her iconic look.

“The Cut” hailed her as the ultimate victor of the Met Gala, while “Bazaar” applauded her for making a major beauty statement. “E! News” couldn’t help but gush over her dress, describing her as a vision of goddess-like beauty.

With each accolade and milestone, Tyla continues to break barriers and inspire fans around the globe. Her infectious energy and unparalleled talent have solidified her place among the music industry’s elite, and her journey is just beginning.
